Amy – My Story

My name is Amy.  I work as a Café Assistant at the Home Café.

I am a volunteer.  I am on a 12 week volunteer placement.

I work with Lucy. Lucy says I am doing really well.

My mum is very proud of me. My mum says my confidence has improved since I’ve been working here.

I like working here. I serve food and drinks to customers. I make different flavoured teas and I make toasties.

I wash up and when I clean the tables I have to spray them and wipe them carefully.

I like chatting to customers and like to see the babies. I like people and like to help people.

I hope I will stay on at the café after my  placement.

Leon took part in a Penalty Shoot Out @GXOLogistics in Derby to support the England Women’s Football team in the Euro 2022 final. He had a great time!
Freya enjoyed meeting her work buddies at a site visit to @GXOLogistics in Newark. The team are learning some Makaton (sign language) in order to better support Freya in her role. It sounds like a great start! Good luck Freya.
Harley started work at Devon and Cornwall Police in 2020 in the Evidence Department. He was recently happy to take part in a 'Cornwall People First' event run by @CornwallCouncil and the Police for Blue Light Day. @DC_Police #BlueLightDay #CornwallPeopleFirst
