WorkFit creates our 250th placement

We are pleased to announce that Lucy, pictured right, has recently become the 250th  WorkFit  placement since 2012. She has started a 12 week work experience placement as an Administrative Assistant at the Thornton NHS Practice in Lancashire. Lucy has a range of duties, including opening and sorting mail and managing and ordering stationery and we wish her all the best for her placement.

Lucy’s mother Beverley is very proud of her daughter’s achievement coming soon after Lucy’s recent move to independent living. When we told her about the special significance of Lucy’s placement she was delighted “What an achievement for WorkFit! Well done to all involved who help people like Lucy with Down’s syndrome get into the workplace and make them feel they are doing something worthwhile in their lives”

WorkFit Manager Alison Thwaite shares Beverley’s delight, saying “Congratulations to Lucy and all of our candidates on their wonderful achievements. I’d also like to pay tribute to the WorkFit Team and congratulate them on the massive milestone of 250 placements. WorkFit Employment Development Officers work tirelessly to support our candidates to fulfil their potential and achieve their career ambitions.  I feel proud and privileged to be part of such a successful and rewarding programme and to work with such a dedicated and professional team”.

We are delighted to have passed this landmark achievement, and look forward to helping more candidates like Lucy in the future to meet their career goals. We congratulate her on her achievement and all our candidates who have gained placements through WorkFit and would like to say a huge and heartfelt “thank you” to the supportive and inclusive employers that we work with
