WorkFit Update, May 2024

WorkFit Officer, Lydia was invited by Hilton to speak on a panel discussion at The Institute of Travel Management’s 2024 conference hosted by DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole. WorkFit discussed with Hilton and Aurora Foxes how businesses in the travel industry could get involved with supported employment. Thank you, Hilton, for supporting the WorkFit programme!

Huge congratulations to Christopher, who received his King’s Scout Award, celebrating his achievement of the Gold DofE award and services to Scouting. Christopher also serves as an assistant young leader with the Scouts, and as a WorkFit candidate, became a valued member of the GLL team over 8 years ago! What a lovely photo of Christopher with his proud parents by his side!

We had the pleasure of attending the Kimberly-Clark Professional Golden Service Awards on May 23rd, 2024, at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, courtesy of an invitation from Principal Cleaning Service. This company, which employs eight WorkFit candidates, was a standout at the event, often dubbed the ‘Oscars’ of the cleaning and FM industry. The ceremony, hosted by British comedian Hugh Dennis, was a memorable occasion. Among the highlights, Bilal from Principal Cleaning, who works at The Sky Garden in London, joined us as a special guest to celebrate the company’s nomination for the Social Impact Award. Principal Cleaning also triumphed by winning awards in the categories for Office areas below 10,000 square meters and Leisure.

Thank you to all of our employers for their continued support of our WorkFit programme, and good luck to everyone starting new roles this month.
