WorkFit Update, July 2024

Sarah and Roy, our WorkFit officers, attended the Green Leaders event last week at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Bath, an initiative from Axiom Hospitality. The event gathered around 60 people from different hotel chains nationwide and featured various guest speakers. The focus was on sustainability in the workplace and supported employment programs. Saffy, from DoubleTree Bath, spoke about her role and the importance of opportunities for people with Down’s syndrome.

Our WorkFit Officers, Adriana and Molly, attended the L’Oréal – Spread the Green Vibes Event, where they were joined by Zehra, who co-presented. Zehra has been working with SecuriGroup for almost a year and has secured a permanent contract. WorkFit had the opportunity to participate in this event, which showcased the sustainability commitments that L’Oréal is diligently working towards. We were invited to share our supported employment programme for people with Down’s Syndrome with L’Oréal’s suppliers.

Huge congratulations to Daniel on completing a year at the Bridge Theatre! A massive thank you to the Bridge Theatre team for their brilliant support. Daniel’s role has grown throughout this year, and he says, “I like selling the Guys and Dolls merch. I like selling the ice creams and hotdogs. Thank you to my buddies.”
