WorkFit Update, February 2025

Joe has made an impressive start in his new role at DHL North Wales. He completed his training last month with an outstanding 100% pass rate. With the support of his buddy, Trish, and training lead Joy, Joe is settling in well and gaining confidence in his new workplace.

At Nando’s, Olivia continues to shine as part of the front-of-house team, where she has been working since May last year. Recently recognised as Star Employee of the Week, Olivia also received fantastic customer feedback:

‘Good afternoon, I had a lovely meal with my family today, and I was served by a fantastic waitress called Olivia. Polite, courteous and very helpful.’

Olivia loves her role, describing it as a place that ‘feels like home.’ She is now preparing to apply for a buddy trainer position, where she will help train new and existing team members to deliver excellent customer service.

Congratulations to WorkFit Officer Sarah Clark, who took on the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in January alongside a dedicated team of fundraisers. Together, they have raised an astonishing £155,000 – with donations still coming in! Of the 17 climbers, 11 reached the summit, and all returned safely after an unforgettable experience. Along the way, the team formed lifelong friendships and helped spread awareness of Down’s syndrome across Tanzania. We are incredibly proud of Sarah and the team for their dedication and achievement.
